The October 3 meeting of the Board of Selectmen was called to order at 7 p.m. by Chairman Soter with Mr. Mayhew and Mr. Martinis in attendance.
PUBLIC HEARING: Julia Drive Street Acceptance.
Mr. Soter opened a Public Hearing on the application of Kevin Lobisser for the street acceptance of Julia Drive. Mr. Lobisser was not in attendance. All members agreed to continue the hearing until the end of the meeting.
On a Mayhew/Martinis motion, the Board unanimously voted to accept the September 26 minutes.
Mr. Soter suggested scheduling the Police Chief for the October 17 meeting to update the Board on the operations of the Auxiliary Police Department. Mr. Mayhew suggested delaying the recommended actions for the Auxiliary Department until we hear from the Chief.
On a Mayhew/Martinis motion, the Board unanimously voted to approve the Common Victuallar license for the St. Brendan’s Fall Fair on November 5th and 6th. Fees were waived.
Mr. Fraine stated additional information was provided to residents who had questions during the informational sewer meeting on September 28. Mr. Martinis stated he did not believe the $90,000 for the sewer study was a wise expenditure of Town funds. He expressed his trust in the estimates previously provided by Mr. DiMartino and suggested the study was not necessary.
Mr. Fraine informed the Board the School Committee was seeking a representative to serve on an “ad hoc” Committee to review the School Department’s athletic fields. Mr. Martinis volunteered to serve on the Committee with all members agreeing.
On a Mayhew/Martinis motion, the Board unanimously voted to continue the Julia Road street acceptance hearing to October 17 at 7 p.m.
